Mr. Ronald Edward Jordan was born to the proud parents Edward and Edna Rae Jordan. Ronald Jordan came into the world on November 16, 1931, and was reared in Darlington County, South Carolina.
He was a Timmonsville High School graduate. Mr. Jordan joined the United States Army and, after training, was stationed in Panama for two years. On October 2, 1958, he married Elinor Askins, and together they shared a loving marriage and delighted in the blessing of four children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr.
Jordan pursued a college education under the G.I. Bill at Furman University, where he majored in accounting and graduated cum laude in 1960. Upon graduation he worked for the United States Internal Revenue Service and then went to work for South Carolina National Bank in Greenville. In 1971, he transferred to Columbia and became a vice president of the financial institution, ultimately retiring in 1992. Mr.
Jordan was involved in community adult and Little Leagues, he also coached both softball and baseball and was an announcer for the Little League games at Caughman Road Park. Mr. Jordan was ordained as a deacon at the young age of 19, he had remained active in his faith his whole life long. As a member of Temple Baptist Church, he had served as a deacon, worked with the RAs, and taught Sunday School, most recently teaching the Dutch Riley Sunday School Class and chairing the church finance committee. He co-founded the Prison Ministry at Wateree Correctional Institution.
Mr. Jordan was a devoted friend of Congaree National Park where he received the Presidential Award and served as a true ambassador to the area. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Elinor Askins Jordan; two daughters, Susanne (Larry) Witteborg and Sharon (Lewis) Jordan-Noles; two sons, Larry (Louann) Jordan and Daniel Jordan; two sisters, Patricia Whittle and Judy Medaris; two brothers, Doug (Janice) Jordan and Dennis (Rhoda) Jordan; six grandchildren, Ronnie Davis, Chip Jordan, Patrick Jordan, Chris Jordan, Eric Witteborg and Laryn Rodgers; three great-grandchildren, Brooke, Grace and Carson. Joseph's Catholic Church where she was an active parishioner serving on the Altar Guild for many years. Betsy had retired from Anderson School District 5 where she was a library assistant at Lakeside Jr. High School for 18 years. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Cobbs Glen country club, where she and her late husband were made honorary members.

She was admired and loved by her three children unconditionally. She was a woman of great strength and fortitude, steadfast to God, her faith and fellow man. She was kind, genuinely thoughtful, caring and compassionate. She always put her family's needs and those of others first. She dearly loved people.
Her true character and strength showed through her care of her husband, who had Alzheimer's for 5 years. She was so strong and admirable, and never once complained. She has passed down to her three children and grandchildren many great values and what the quality of life should be about. She was and is our hero. Light, 68, of Chapin, SC, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, in a Lexington health care facility after an illness. Mr. Light was born to humble betember 17, 1941. From there ginnings in Oak Hill, WV, on moved to Michigan and his entrepreneurial spirit took roots. He found a love of cars and the real estate business loved him as much as he loved the real estate business.
He was incredibly diverse in his business, owning shares of restaurants, car sales and even a heating and air business. He was tremendously wellrespected. She was 92.
In a statement, the vice president said she died in Wilmington surrounded by her family and loved ones. She had suffered a broken hip in a fall in March 2009. "Together with my father, her husband of 61 years who passed away in 2002, we learned the dignity of hard work and that you are defined by your sense of honor," he said in the statement. "Her strength, which was immeasurable, will live on in all of us." Joe Biden Jr. was first elected to the Senate in 1972, shortly before his 30th birthday.
His mother helped out by organizing coffee klatches. The former Catherine Eugenia Finnegan was born July 7, 1917, in Scranton, Pa. In 1941, she married businessman Joseph Biden with whom she had four children. The couple moved from Scranton to Claymont, in 1953, when their eldest son, Joe, was 10. Biden said he also learned honor and loyalty from his mother.
"When I got knocked -down by guys bigger than me she sent me back out the street and told me, 'Bloody their nose so you can walk down the street the next And that's what I did." Jean Biden is survived by the vice president, daughter Valerie Biden Owens of Kennett Square, and sons James Brian Biden of Merion Station, and Francis W. Biden of Florida.
