The project started with the announcement in October 2022, outlining the intent to reconstruct the pool to contemporary industry standards. This included enhancing accessibility with features like the new accessibility ramp and retrofitting the structural and mechanical aspects of the pool to meet provincial code requirements, thereby extending its life expectancy.

The phases of this meticulous reconstruction were outlined as follows:

  1. Phase 1: Demolition - The initial step involved preparing the space by clearing it out for renovations.
  2. Phase 2: Inground Plumbing - This phase focused on laying the groundwork for the pool's infrastructure.
  3. Phase 3: Backfilling - Backfilling was undertaken, presumably to cover and stabilize the newly installed plumbing.
  4. Phase 4: Above-ground Plumbing - This stage involved installing plumbing systems above the ground, including essential features like perimeter piping, skimmers, and pool returns.
