Obituary Preview: Farmington – Gloria Joan Kimball, 96, of Rumford passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the Sandy River Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Locke Mills on December 10, 1927 the daughter of Owen and Bertha Lawrence Davis. She attended school in Locke Mills and married her husband Donald Kimball in October 1945.

Joan was a homemaker, and the bookkeeper for the family Mobil garage in Dixfield. She was also a member of the Greenwood Historical Society.

Joan and her beloved husband Donald, enjoyed going to many Old Time Dances and fairs together. She enjoyed playing the piano, cooking, crocheting, and good conversation exchanged around the kitchen table. Joan was full of wisdom and had a great sense of humor. She cherished her family and was a much-loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.

She is survived by her sons Peter and wife Kathy of Michigan and Kenneth and his friend Lisa of Rumford; grandchildren Jessica, Jason and Peter, Jr.; great grandchildren Ericka, Brooke, Jacob and Olivia. Great great grandchildren Harper and Grayson, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved.

She is predeceased by her Husband Donald, good friend Bob and siblings Mary, Betty and John.

Obituary Preview: Paris – Betty K. Paul, 95, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris. She was born in Norway, Maine, on October 8, 1928, to Glen and Marion Keniston. A graduate of Norway High School, she attended Auburn Maine School of Commerce. On October 31, 1948, Betty married Maurice Paul and they celebrated 67 years of marriage until his passing. Betty worked at Wilner Wood Products, W.T. Grants, and in 1977 she and Maurice owned and operated Oxford Pine Products in Norway until retirement in 2007.

Betty was a lifetime member of the American Legion Foster Carroll Post #72 Auxiliary; she was well known for her cream puffs and rice Krispie bars at the Legion Beano.

Betty enjoyed trips to Prince Edward Island, reading, bird watching, and making May baskets for every child in the neighborhood. In later years, she knitted many, many dish cloths for all. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family and celebrating all holidays.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Maurice, her parents and 3 sisters Barbara, Doris, and Mae. She is survived by her daughter Lorraine Lambert and husband Barry of Dover, NH., son Timothy Paul of Norway, ME., grandsons Derek Lambert (Katie) of Dover, NH., Brandon Paul (partner Christine Banville) of Lewiston, ME., and great grandsons Jackson and Beckett Lambert of South Berwick, ME. Along with close family friend Barry Small.

The family would like to thank the Maine Veterans Home for their loving care and Androscoggin Home Health Care & Hospice for care in the last month of her life.

Obituary Preview: Lisbon – Kenneth B. Nowlin, 85, of Harrison passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at The Lamp Memory Care Center. He was born in Newry on July 30, 1938 the son of John and Wilhelmina O’Leary Nowlin. Kenneth graduated from Gould Academy in 1957.

He served in the U. S. Army Reserve. He had been employed as a meat cutter at Food City and had worked at New England Furniture Co. Ken was a New England sports fan, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar with his band, New Edition.

He is survived by his wife Theresa Davis Nowlin of Harrison; daughter Kelly Cook and husband Hank of Georgia, son Jeff Nowlin and wife Tracy of New Jersey and daughter Amber Mercer and husband Mark of South Carolina; grandchildren Morgan and Coty Mayo, Jade and Kyle Shankman, Tyler Nowlin-Lachance, Kyle and Patty Nowlin, Kelsey Nowlin, Jenevive Deveraux and Noah Crocker; great grandchildren Gracie Mayo, Bethanie Mayo and Lennon Shankman; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving daughter Angel Crocker; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Obituary Preview: OTISFIELD- Philip T. DeCoste, 88, passed away Monday morning April 8, 2024. He was residing in Orchard Park Rehabilitation in Farmington, ME. He was born in Boston Massachusetts on February 4, 1936, to Gustave and Clara DeCoste. He graduated from Chelsea/ Everett Vocational School.

On September 10, 1955, he married Beatrice Ann Pratt of Everett. They made a home in Everett Massachsetts, with eight children. Then Phil and Betty retired and moved to Otisfield Maine 25 years ago.

Phil worked for Anheuser-Busch in Medford as a Forklift driver where he retired in 1998. He loved to go fishing, draw, and play Cribbage with the family. Phil also served time in the National Guard Massachusetts and was honorable discharged in February 1956. Mr. Decoste is survived by his 7 children Elaine Joyce of Maine, Thomas Decoste of Lowell MA, Denise DeCoste of Everett MA, Doreen Marshall and husband Darin of Florida, Steven DeCoste and wife Jacqueline of Salem MA, James DeCoste of Lynn MA, and Jeff Decoste of Malden MA. Mr. Decoste

has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter Carol Decoste of NJ. He was also predeceased by his loving wife Beatrice Ann Decoste. Obituary Preview: Norway - Gregory Kirk Miller AKA Captain was born on December 14, 1951, in Flint, Michigan, to Robert Lee Miller Sr. and Mary Dorthula Borah. He was preceded in death by his siblings Yvonne, Gary and Bobby.

He is survived by his four children, Trilese, Gregory, Kristina and Mikey; his nine grandchildren Alizabeth, Justus, Dominic, Rainey, Aurora, Kyia, Justin, little Mikey, and Evelyn; his ole lady Pixie; many nieces and nephews and friends from all across the county.

Captain lived his fullest life! His smile and spirit was as bright and free as the tie-dye shirts he wore. He spent his life traveling the free roads on a school bus teaching people to blow glass, playing his guitar, making trouble and collecting friends on every corner.

Obituary Preview: South Paris – Anne W. Wyman, age 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 6, 2024, at the Maine Veterans Home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina on January 22, 1936, a daughter of Ressie and Lucille Cooper Watkins. Anne overcame her diagnosis of Polio, and went on to graduate from Rosewood High school. She worked on the family Tobacco Farm.

On July 1, 1956, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Wyman, Sr. in Goldsboro, NC. Anne and Bob moved to Maine in 1962 to raise their family. She worked as a bookkeeper at various local businesses including Sanborn Shoe Shop, New England Furniture, Cornwall’s, and Market Square Health Care Center.

The family lived in Oxford until the children were grown. Anne and Bob then moved to Stoneham where they lived for 17 happy years. In 1997 they moved back to Oxford to spend their remaining years close to their family.

Anne’s life was very full and happy doing what she loved such as camping, snowmobiling, stock car racing, traveling, crafts and playing card games with friends and family, especially cribbage. Her biggest joy in life was her family. She loved entertaining her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert Wyman, Sr.; her parents Ressie and Lucille Watkins; her brother J.R. Watkins; and sister Luray Brantham.

She is survived by her son Robert Wyman, Jr. of Bridgton; daughters, Kathy Goforth and her husband Jay of Oxford, Terry Hoyt and her husband Kenneth of Oxford; grandchildren, Tanya Ludden and her husband Matt of Mason Township, Regina Wilson and her husband Matt of Oxford, Derek Goforth of South Paris, and Kenny Hoyt of Oxford; 6 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; her brother Wayne Watkins and his wife Coneva of Goldsboro, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Obituary Preview: Farmington – Edward M, Powers, age 62 passed away on Tuesday March 26, 2024, at the Orchard Park Rehabilitation Center with his loving family by his side. He was born November 23, 1961, in Milford, Mass, a son of Edward and Leona (Depatie) Powers. Edward retired from the Maine Department of Transportation for 28 years out of Bethel Location. He then went on to work for the town of Bethel until his health issues prevented him from doing one of the things he loved.

He was a cornerstone of the Windy Valley Snowmobile Club, and avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and taking long rides on his motorcycle. He was the happiest when spending time with his loving wife and family at the river, the beach, and in the garden. He was described by his friends as a wealth of knowledge and one of the most trustworthy humans a friend could have.

He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Leona Powers, and many aunts and uncles.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Loretta (Wight) Powers, his daughters, Erin Powers, Tracey Powers and her husband Shawn Martinous, and son Jason Powers; his stepchildren, Mandy Berry and Jason Berry; his grandchildren, Keegan, Lily, Connor, Maddie, Karter, Payton, Gage and Jordan, his brothers Jimmy R. Obituary Preview: Norway Patricia J. “Nannie” Lawrence, 86 of West Paris, passed away Saturday, March 23 at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Lewiston, August 29, 1937 one of 5 children born to Thomas and Nathalie Wright Judd, Sr. She graduated from Livermore High School in 1955 and worked at New England Furniture until she met Wayne, the love of her life. On October 17, 1958 she married Wayne Lawrence and they moved to West Sumner and she began working at Penley Brothers. In 1970 they moved to West Paris where she lived for 54 years and had the best neighbors a person could ask for. After 42 years of piece work at Penley’s she retired, she and Wayne enjoyed trips to the ocean, fishing and hunting until his passing April 16, 2004.

Nannie kept busy walking, socializing with friends and helping Judy and Mitch with the race car business. She greeted people with a smile, helped them find what they needed and always enjoyed chatting with everyone.

Nannie loved working at the race car parts trailer and traveling to many race tracks and meeting many people over the years. Her biggest joy in life was her family. She was so proud of Mickey and Timmy, watching them grow up and have families of their own. You could always find Nannie at her great grandchildren’s events cheering them and their friends on. She loved Sophie, Avery and Tucker more than life itself and always wanted to make sure they were ok or if they needed something.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Green and her husband Mitch of Norway, grandson Mickey Green and his wife Melissa of West Paris, grandson Timmy Hilden and his wife Marcie of Norway, great grandchildren Sophie Green, Avery and Tucker Hilden, sisters Betty Coombs of Livermore and Marilyn Breton of VA., many nieces and nephews, her long time companion Ron Olson and dear friend Eleanor Ryerson.

Obituary Preview: Canton – Caroline S. (Ellis) Roberts, age 94, passed away on Thursday March 21, 2024, at Pinnacle Residential Care with her loving family by her side. She was born December 16, 1929, in Jay, the daughter of Harry and Lucy (Kennedy) Ellis. Caroline was the oldest of 3 children. She had step brothers and sisters, and one half sister. After graduating from the local school system, she went on to a business school.

Caroline worked as a CNA for most of her life, and was known to many as the saint, for her care and compassion.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family and friends. She loved roses and wildflowers.

She was predeceased by her husbands, William Savage, Sr., and William Roberts; her loving parents; and all her siblings.

She is survived by her loving children, William Savage, Jr. and his wife Cheryl, Stacey Roberts and his wife Katie, Penny Johnson and her husband Joseph, and Patti Bryant and her husband Stephen. Along with 24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 20 great-great grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: Norway - It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Edmunds O’Connor, age 64, of Harrison, Maine shares news of his unexpected passing from natural causes on March 19, 2024. He was born in Lewiston, Maine on October 10, 1959, son of Judith Edmunds O’Connor and the late Robert O’Connor of Oxford, Maine.

Mike grew up in South Paris and enjoyed playing with neighborhood friends, camping with his family, and spending fun-filled summers on Keoka Lake. He also participated in Little League Baseball and The Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1978, where he excelled in football, baseball, and basketball throughout his time there, and received several athletic awards. Following high school, Mike attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle and Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute where he received a Maritime Associate Degree. After college he began full-time employment at Paris Farmers Union where he remained throughout his career and advanced to his most recent position as warehouse manager.

On June 27, 1987, Mike married Shari Kathleen Smith, the love of his life. His greatest joy was raising their two children Cody and Brynn, coaching their youth baseball and soccer teams, and skiing with the family throughout Maine and New Hampshire, Sunday River being his favorite. They also enjoyed many happy family vacations over the years. Mike loved watching Cody play the drums and attending Brynn’s dance and gymnastics competitions. He was a huge fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics. He loved landscape gardening in his backyard, and transforming it was a great source of pride. In recent years he and Shari purchased a camper and enjoyed seasonal stays at Vacationland Campground on Crystal Lake in Harrison, Maine where they made wonderful memories with new and old friends. Mike was thrilled to eventually become a grandfather and shared many precious times with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Shari, Mike is survived by his son Cody O’Connor, his partner Jessica, and grandchildren Liam and Soren of Washington, New Hampshire, and daughter Brynn Elizabeth O’Connor, husband Dennis Mailman, and daughters Emilia and Addy of Harrison, Maine. He also leaves his mother Judy O’Connor of Oxford, Maine; sisters Kathy Chalas (Mark) of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Nancy Ames (Tim) of Canaan, Maine, and Kimberly Amalfitano (Neil) of Oakland, Maine; sisters-in-law Dodie Hoyt (Jeffry) of Norway, Maine, and Darlene Sessions-Barbour (Brian) of Norway, Maine; and brother-in-law Bill Smith (Deb) of Oxford, Maine, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mike was predeceased by his father Robert O’Connor, brother Kevin O’Connor, mother-in-law Beverly Smith, father-in-law William Smith, paternal grandparents Leicester and Mildred O’Connor, and maternal grandparents Elmore and Muriel Edmunds. Obituary Preview: Erna H. Martin March 3, 1931 - March 19, 2024

Erna H. Martin, 93, of South Paris, Maine passed away on March 19, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born in Norway, Maine on March 3, 1931, to Grace Erna King and George Henry Hill.

Erna was a devoted & dedicated mother who raised 4 children. She loved living in Arizona, for close to 30 years. While living there she performed and taught hula dancing and clogging. She enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren to hula, and sometimes captured it on video. She found joy in helping others as she worked for many years as a receptionist at Weight Watchers. Erna was an avid crafter and made many latch hook hangings, knitted blankets to donate, crocheted, put together many puzzles, and played board games countless times. Her favorite movies were the Sound of Music and Gone With the Wind. She kept watching Gone With the Wind, hoping that the end would change. She especially valued spending time with family, and good friends, and always wished for more time with them. She had a great sense of humor, was feisty and fun to talk with. Erna was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for many years and loved fellowshipping with other members.

Erna spent the last year of her life at Aspen Grove Assisted Living Community where she enjoyed lots of activities and made many friends. Everyone appreciated her wonderful sense of humor and she will be missed. We would like to thank the staff and her friends for helping take such good care of her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James H. Hamlin, Sr., who died on 05/15/53 while serving his country, second husband Richard T. Ayer, married from 1954-1970, most recent husband, Stanley C. Martin, married from 1977-2002, great granddaughter Sophee Ashby, and step-son Stanley (Slug) C. Martin II.

Obituary Preview: South Paris Marjorie W. Baird, 92, of South Paris passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 at Market Square Health Care Center.

She was born in Lewiston, November 18, 1931 a daughter of Harlan and Josephine Jewell Washburn. She graduated from Paris High School and in her younger years lived at the YWCA in Portland and worked at Campbell’s Book store where she met her future husband Thomas Baird.

While in Portland she attended the Portland Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and bible study. She and Tom came back to South Paris where she was actively involved in the Paris Hill Bible Church now known as Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law Joyce Baird of Bancroft, WI; 2 grandsons David and his wife Lynn and Timothy all of Bancroft. WI; 7 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; a niece Deborah Lucci and her husband Michael of Windham, N.H., a nephew Michael Washburn of Burlington, VT., her dear friend Dottie Tibbetts of South Paris.

She was predeceased by her husband Tom, son Peter and 2 brothers Maurice and James Washburn. The family would like to thank Seniors Plus and all those who helped Marjorie in recent years.

Obituary Preview: Auburn- Eugene Edward Duford Sr. 71 died Sunday March 17,2024, at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. He was born in Concord New Hampshire on November 30,1952, The son of Armond and Winnifred LaFarge Duford. Eugene attended Windham area schools. After school he served in the United States Army. After completing his time with the Army, Eugene worked as a self-employed Jack of all trades. On June 18,1989, he married Virginia Larrabee.

He enjoyed working and to have yard sales and be a part of the flea markets, he also loved to volunteer for the food pantry and loved helping the community and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife Virginia, sister Nancy Blake, brother Charles Duford and many grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Armond and Winifred, and his son Eugene E. Duford Jr.

Obituary Preview: Buckfield – James E. Jordan, 80, died Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his home. James, “Jimmy,” was born on August 25, 1943, the son of Carl and Beulah (Cooper) Jordan. Jimmy attended Buckfield area schools graduating from Buckfield High School and was a lifelong resident of the community. During high school, he worked at Tilton’s Market. After graduation, Jimmy worked for Cornwall’s Manufacturing as a traveling salesman. He drove trucks of antiques from Maine to Texas for Rodney Payne, and finished his working career at International Paper as a manager.

Jimmy had a knack for finding a deal. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy (his friends and family knew not to call between 7:30 and 8:00 PM). He took time to take trips to the Maine coast, check lawn sales, and eat preferred meals such as lobster and Chinese food. His true passions in life were watching horse racing and visiting with family and friends.

Jimmy is survived by his family, David J. Jordan and his wife Sherry and their children David W. Jordan and Amanda Wagner, many cousins, as well as good friends Greg and April Bubier, and Rolly and Leah Frechette who he enjoyed weekly Italian nights with. He was predeceased by his parents.

Obituary Preview: Otisfield – A. Bernice Kehn, 81, of North Norway and Otisfield, passed away on March 16, 2024, after a battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was born in East Andover on November 6, 1942, the daughter of Francis Edmond and Hannah Mae (Farrington) Chenery Maddix.

Bernice grew up in East Andover and had fond memories and some lifelong friends there. She attended Maine Medical Center School of Nursing and St. Joseph’s College. Bernice was a staff nurse and worked in surgical services for 46 years, at Houlton Regional Hospital, St. Andrews Hospital, Boothbay Harbor, NCMH-Bridgton, Stephens Memorial Hospital and Central Maine Hospital.

Bernice was a world traveler and loved global cuisine, and she had fun trying to replicate this at home for friends and loved ones. She enjoyed singing in the choir and her church community at Christ Episcopal Church in Norway. Bernice was described by a former Rector of her church as “a gentle, kind soul” and “a stunning child of God”. She loved the Red Sox and couldn’t miss a game on television, she was an avid gardener, loved to read and walk in the woods with her westies.

Bernice is survived by her son Kevin Tuttle and his wife Debbie of Windham, daughter Catherine Tuttle and her fiancé Scott Parsons of Otisfield, stepdaughter Patricia Suzanne and her two children Elizabeth and Mimi Baumhoff, stepdaughter Andree Kehn and her partner Mitch Miller, a loving and spirited 6-year-old westie Aengus, along with many loved cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Theodore Kehn, her parents, and four siblings Pearl M. Elliott, Ruth H. Sherwood, Wilber E. Chenery and Sherman F. Maddix. Obituary Preview: AUBURN - After a full and good long life of 94 years, our dear mother, Nancy L. Holden, passed away on March 15, 2024, in the Memory Care Unit at Clover Health Care in Auburn, with family by her side. Nancy was born in Clifton, New Brunswick, Canada, on April 6, 1929, the first of three children of E. Gerald Flewelling and Edith Paterson Flewelling. Two siblings followed, Gerald and Patricia Flewelling (Dickinson), who predeceased her. To maintain their American citizenship during WWII, her father moved the family to the U.S. in 1943, choosing a home in North Bridgton located across the street from the family home of her future husband, Donald Holden.

Following her high school graduation from Bridgton Academy as salutatorian, Nancy attended the University of Maine at Orono and Northeastern Business College in Portland. She married Don in 1949 and they settled in North Bridgton where she would live an independent life until her health began to fail in 2022. She was predeceased by Don in 1986.

Nancy was an active homemaker while her three children were in school, and she and Don were devoted sports fans, traveling to many of their children’s games. She then took courses at the University of Southern Maine in Library Science, after which she worked in the middle school libraries of SAD #61, primarily in Bridgton and Casco. She was a dedicated member of the North Bridgton Congregational Church and served as Financial Secretary for many years until it closed, and then was a member of the United Parish Congregational Church of Harrison and North Bridgton. She was also a member of the North Bridgton Historical Society, North Bridgton Community Club, Friends of the North Bridgton Library, and volunteered at Northern Cumberland Memorial Hospital.

Spending time with friends and family is something Nancy loved most, especially when it involved her grandchildren. She was a wonderful listener who took a keen interest in hearing about what was going on in their lives, bringing her great pride and joy. One thing everyone knew about Nancy is that she was a dedicated swimmer, even into her 90’s. In the summer, you could often find her either at the local beach, often accompanied by a grandchild, or working in her beautiful flower gardens that were admired by so many. The outdoors held a special place in her heart, as she spent many camping trips traveling in a fully loaded canoe to Don’s favorite fishing spots, and later camping with her daughter and grandchildren. Nancy was also a gifted pianist who enjoyed playing a variety of music, from old hymns to boogie woogie, and was a lover of books, especially those about American history.

Nancy was a kind and generous person with an easy smile and a genuine, friendly nature. She will be missed by many, including her family, son Don and wife Teresa of Falmouth, son Bob and wife Martha of North Bridgton, and daughter Carol and husband Fred (DiBello) of Greene, along with five grandchildren, Mark, Tyler, Ross, Andrea and Kristen, and three great-grandchildren, Maddix, Isaac, and Ellis.

Nancy’s family will be forever grateful for the loving care and support provided by the Memory Care staff at Clover over the past year and more recently by Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice.

Obituary Preview: South Paris - Gail Ann Farr, 75, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Market Square Health Care Center in South Paris.

Gail was born on November 30th, 1948, to Dwight Stevens and Jennie Ring of Sumner, Maine. She grew up in Sumner and graduated from Buckfield High School in 1967. On December 9th, 1967, she married Donald Farr of West Paris at the Universalist Church in West Sumner, beginning a journey of love and family.

In her earlier years, Gail worked in manufacturing, starting her career at Penley Mill in West Paris before moving on to the Advertiser Democrat and Paris Manufacturing. Beyond her professional life, Gail was a creative soul with a passion for drawing. She attended art classes and was credited with having designed the Buckfield High School class ring. Gail found joy in singing, listening to country music, and treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Gail was predeceased by her parents, Dwight Stevens and Jennie Kilponen, her stepfather Ellis Kilponen, and her brother Mark Kilponen.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Hadley, and fiancé Bob Mitchell of Oxford, and her son, Troy Farr, and wife Vickie of Norway. Gail is also survived by her stepmother, Leone Stevens of Buckfield, and siblings Loraine Bonney (Kirby), Deborah Kangas (deceased husband Leland), Kathleen Dunn (John), Anthony Stevens (Patty), Donna DeBlois (John), Karen Morse (partner George), Belinda Edmunds (deceased husband Paul), Ellis Kilponen Jr. (Kathy), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Gail leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, cherished by her five grandchildren, Courtney Tuomi (Adam), Christine Farr, Cody Hadley (Monica), Dylan Hadley, Samantha Martin (Caleb), and four great-grandchildren, Isaac and Adrian Tuomi, Scarlet and Violet Hadley.

Obituary Preview: Norway – William E. Dunham, age 83 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at home with family by his side. William was born in Massachusetts on July 4, 1941, to Clarence and Claribel Dunham.

He married Mary Ann Horton, William was an over the road truck driver who enjoyed music, watching football, boating, riding his motorcycle with Mary Ann and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

William is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, his children, Josephine, Kevin, Rodney, Bill, Richard, Robert and Destiny; as well as many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and his sister Beverly.

He was predeceased by his daughter Susan; and his parents.

Obituary Preview: SUMNER- Geoffrey S. Twitchell, 56, of Sumner passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday March 9, 2024. Geoffrey was born in Brockton, MA on October 23, 1967 to loving parents Maurice and Dorothy (Cahoon) Twitchell.

Goeffrey attended local schools growing up, and recently was working for Twin Town Glass installing windows and glass of various sorts. He enjoyed a good motorcycle ride and found joy in fishing in his free time.

He is predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Dorothy Twitchell, a sister Diane Jackson, and a nephew Andrew Jackson.

Obituary Preview: WEST PARIS- Arthur Burnham Jr., 81, passed away on Tuesday, March 5th 2024 at Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice in Auburn, Maine. He passed peacefully surrounded by family.

Born in West Farmington, Maine on July 29, 1942, Arthur was born the son of Arthur Burnham and Hazel (Whitney) Burnham. In 1960, Arthur met the love of his life, Connie Boston, while working at Central Maine General Hospital. They married the same year. Arthur later moved to Norway and opened an Upholstery shop, which he ran until his retirement. Over the course of their marriage, the two lovingly fostered over a hundred children.

It is said that a person is never truly gone until they are no longer remembered, and so we take comfort in knowing Arthur will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.

Arthur will forever be remembered for his warmth, his unwavering stubbornness, his commitment to arriving everywhere an hour earlier than necessary, and his utter devotion and love for his aptly named wife, Constance. We are thankful to know he passed with no regrets, no pain, and with the knowledge that his love touched many lives.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Constance, their five children: James and his wife Kathy, Jon and his wife Jo, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Felicia, and many loved foster children. He also leaves behind his brother David, and many grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his son Jody, and two grandsons: Zuka Mabior, and Jacob Burnham.

Obituary Preview: Paris – Elizabeth Blazier, 84 died Friday March 1, 2024, at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris. She was born in Portland on December 12, 1939, the daughter of Desmond and Mary (Cote) Brown. Elizabeth attended the South Portland Schools and later returned to the school system to work while raising her family.

Elizabeth is survived by her sons William Goff of Roxbury and Lawrence Goff of Monticello; grandchildren Nicole Price of Rumford, Jason Goff of Standish, Robert Goff of Paris, Cory Goff of Portland, Jamie Eaton of Bar Harbor, Caren Nickerson of Poland, Katie Scott of Augusta, Kaly Gemelli of Mercer, and Dawson Goff of Bridgewater; great grandchildren Hayden Scott, Carver Gemelli, Hank Nickerson, Colton Nickerson, Laura Nickerson, Kyla Goff, Kaden Goff, Riley Goff, Harper Goff, and Callan Goff; sisters Joan Lawler of Raymond and Ruth Smith of Gorham. She was predeceased by her husband Murrill Blazier; and sons James and Michael.

Obituary Preview: North Paris – Beryl Ellingwood Oja, 96, died peacefully on February 29, 2024, at her home in North Paris. She was born on Paris Hill on March 20, 1927, the daughter of Joseph and Elsie (Garey) Ellingwood. When she was 3 years old, the family moved to North Paris where Beryl spent the rest of her life. She graduated

from West Paris High School as Valedictorian in the class of 1945. Beryl was the youngest of 11 children, and interaction with her large extended family was a dominant theme throughout her life. In her eighties, she was still writing poems to celebrate the birthdays and anniversaries of her beloved

brothers and sisters and never missed a family reunion. On Nov. 28, 1946, Beryl married Frederick V. Oja. They settled nearby and eventually built a new house where the old one had stood. Together they raised 7 children. The house was a busy place because children were always congregating

there to play ball, play cards, or just enjoy the early days of television. Beryl always followed the Red Sox and Celtics and passed on her enthusiasm for sports to several of her children. If they participated in sports, Beryl tried to

attend every game and enjoyed talking about them afterwards. Beryl dearly loved her grandchildren and would have enjoyed following their

teams and activities in the same way if distance had not made it impossible. Everyone was always welcome in her home, and she was always ready for a game

of Scrabble or cards. Beryl was active in the church and the community. She was a member of the North Paris Federated Church throughout her adult life attending church and prayer meetings regularly. She taught Sunday School for many years and was the church clerk for at least a half century. She loved cooking for and attending both

church and community suppers. Throughout its existence, Beryl was a member of the North Paris Community Club. In her later years she was active in Graybeards and Senior Citizens. She also found she enjoyed traveling. After Fred retired, they took vacations in Hawaii,

Italy, and London. They also enjoyed traveling to visit their children.
